Join Alexander Pe a a violist, conductor, & educator from the historic Iolani School in Honolulu, Hawai i for a week of musical exploration through invigorating, hands-on activities in the creative arts! We gather a team of Teaching Artists (from New York City & Baltimore) to come to Brainerd and apply their expertise in improvisation, theater, storytelling, movement, music & visual arts to explore classical orchestral repertoire presented in live concerts by the Lakes Area Music Festival (www.lakesareamusic.org)!

Monday, July 29 through Friday, August 2

Performances: INFORMance (open-house) on Friday, August 2nd at 11:15 a.m.
Performance on Sunday, August 4th at 1:30 p.m.
Location: Washington Educational Services Building (804 Oak St, 56401)
All performances held at Tornstrom Auditorium
Fee: $80, includes t-shirt and a daily snack

PARTICIPATE in the Lakes Area Music Festival concerts & performances!

This year s theme celebrates music from the United States focusing on the composer, George Gershwin! Students will participate in a variety of engaging creative arts activities, in addition to instrument and conducting classes. All activities are designed to explore the orchestral music presented at the Sunday, August 4th Family Concert as part of the Lakes Area Music Festival.

Participants will have two opportunities to perform in the LAMF: an informal performance on Friday, August 2nd at 11:15 a.m. for families and an exclusive performance on Sunday, August 4th at 1:30 p.m. for a full audience.
